Wedding Ceremony Music
Pedruxella Gran Olive Estate near Pollensa in Mallorca
I had the pleasure of performing at probably the most stunning wedding venue I have ever been to. It’s a pretty crazy off-road climb to reach it, but it is worth it! The views and setting of this beautiful olive estate are incredible and it is the type of place you would see in the movies. The weather was perfect, if a little overly hot for early June, and it was wonderful to work with my good friend Emma of Emma Fenton Photography who was booked to capture the day. I will include some of Emma’s photos from the day.
Wedding Ceremony Songs
It came as no surprise to me that Tash – the bride’s favourite film is ‘Love Actually’ – her own wedding was as if Richard Curtis himself had directed it and Tash wasn’t going to miss a trick – even the soundtrack was fitting! She asked me to play her bridesmaids and flower girls down the aisle / many many steps that led onto the lawn where the ceremony was to Craig Armstrong’s ‘Glasgow Piano Theme’ which is directly from the soundtrack to Love Actually. It’s a really beautiful piano piece, and actually since this wedding I’ve had another bride ask for this same piece too. It really set the scene and the romantic mood of the day and everyone was still eager to see the bride herself. I gave a slight pause and then started a gentle and atmospheric piano rendition of ‘1000 Years’ by Christina Perry. This was when the bride and her father made their grand entry. Tash told me afterwards, that the second she heard 1000 Years begin, she just burst into tears and so did her dad! I take tears as a compliment – if I can get the bride in tears (or even better, the groom) and the parents and as many guests as I can then I’m doing my job well!
In true Love Actually style they walked back down the aisle together to The Beatles’ – All You Need Is Love! 🙂
Wedding Drinks Reception Live Music
I then relocated my keyboard and PA – with the help of my very strong and luckily willing, husband-roadie up the million steps and up a few more to the pool area for the drinks reception! Like I said, it was like the perfect wedding from a romantic film. The guests sat with their feet dangling in the pool sipping cool cocktails along with the bride and groom!
Congratulations to Tash and Mark and a big thank you for choosing me to play at their big day. And I must say – what a privilege to play in these wonderful corners of the world. I really do have one of the best jobs going and I am very thankful and grateful for that! 🙂
