Wedding Ceremony Songs at Finca Real

I was booked to play piano and sing some unusual and special songs in this wedding ceremony at Finca Real. The couple were Ida and Magnus from Norway, and they were really into their music and requested 4 very special songs from me. The songs were quite left-field but that suited me very well as I am very into my indie music and its fringes.

The songs they requested were:

Bridal Entrance – Piano instrumental of Holocene by Bon Iver
In ceremony – Book Of Love by Magnetic Fields but Gavin James version
In ceremony – Both Sides Now by Joni Mitchell

Their exit song was All Night Long by Lionel Richie but they decided to have the actual recording of this and pump it up for the extra celebratory vibe at the end of the ceremony! I can play songs through an ipod or phone through my PA no problem.

This wedding was unusual for me in that I had someone else playing with me! They had a friend, Erling who is a guitarist and a very good one, and he was asked to play The Book of Love with me. So that one was just vocal and guitar. And he also joined me for Both Sides Now so that was with piano, vocal and sparkly electric guitar fills which sounded amazing. They hired in a huge vox amp and the guitar sound was just to die for! I wish we had a recording from it, because it was one of my most enjoyable performances of this year. Thanks to Erling for making it such a nice gig and congratulations to Ida and Magnus and thanks for entrusting me with such precious requests.
