I was asked by a lovely German couple to play at their wedding in Finca Son Cosme Pons near Santanyi in Mallorca.
They asked me to play in the ceremony and drinks reception by myself. And then for the dinner and dancing afterwards we did as a duo with my dad! I’m very lucky that I get to play with my dad sometimes – if you think I have any talent and you like my voice at all – you should hear my dad!
Ceremony song requests included: Sky Full of Stars by Coldplay and Your Love Keeps Lifting Me Higher by Jackie Wilson. This makes a great end song as it’s really upbeat and joyful for the end of the ceremony.
I really like this couple’s music taste – for their First Dance they asked for You To Me Are Everything by The Real Thing and for the second dance (with their mothers) they danced to Love Is In The Air by John Paul Young which has one of the greatest buildups to a chorus in the history of pop music!
Slightly unlucky with a lot of rain on the morning, when I arrived it could have easily been a total washout and I would not have been surprised to be met with total panic. But the couple were as cool as a cucumber, genuinely relaxed and just happy to be there with all the people special to them regardless of the weather and everything being ‘perfect’. And guess what? About 20 minutes before the ceremony, the rain stopped and the sun pushed through and dried up the garden Right. On. Time. 🙂
Cos you gotta have faith faith faith, you gotta have faith -a faith -a faith -ah!
